Typing French symbols using the alt key

It is possible to type in Spanish, French and many other languages using a standard keyboard. To do so requires the use of hte alt key (and sometimes the control key) and hte number keypad. For example to type ç, you hold down the right alt key and then type 135 on the number keypad (while still holding down the alt key).

Some combinations used in typing French are: ç - alt + 135, Ç - alt + 128, é - alt + 130, è - alt + 138, ê - alt + 136

 

Typing Icelandic letters using the alt key

Here are some of the combinations you would need for Icelandic: í - 161, á - 160, Í - 0205, æ - 145, þ - 0254, ð - 0240

Typing in Portuguese using the alt key
