Cyrillic alphbet

The Cyrillic alphabet is most known for being the alphabet used in Russian. It was invented in the 9th century by two monks who were brothers, Cyril and Methodius. Besides being used in Russian, is is used be Belarus, Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, among others. Many web sites that teach Russian will also teach how to read the Cyrillic alphabet. 

Omniglot Web Site

Omniglot is a web site with literally hundreds of writing sytems of other languages. There are even fictional languages such as Klingon and Romulan (from Star Trek) and languages from Lord of the Rings.

To find the web site, type in Omniglot in Google and the site will come up. Once on the site, if you click on languages, an alphabetical list of the languages will appear.

Two alphabets that are reasonably easy to learn to read would be Greek (with some letters similar to English) and Cyrillic (used in Russian, Bulgarian, etc.) The Cyrillic alphabet was devised by St. Cyril and St. Methodius in the 9th century. After learning these two alphabets, it is possible to continue on to learn Greek, Russian and other languages.

It is possible to type in other languages using on-line keyboard web sites. One such web site is Lexilogos, which allows the user to choose any one of a large number of languages.
