Audio news in slow languages

It is possible to listen to the news in French, Italian and Spanish, pronounced slowly for the intermediate language learner. The speakers speak slowly, and a new broadcast is added each day to keep up with current news. It is possible to read a written copy as they speak to assist in learning the language. The first couple of paragraphs are free and it is possible to have new listening material every day, however there is a fee if you want to listen to the entire sound file. Simple search Google for News in slow French, News in slow Italian or news in slow Spanish to reach the web site.

Bible Gateway

Bible Gateway is a web site where it is possible to read the Bible in other languages such as Spanish, French and Italian, etc. It is also possible to read the Bible in languages with other writing systems, such as Korean.

Some languages, such as Greek and Polish, only have the New Testament available on this site.

The web site can be found at

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/

Once on the site, type in the passage to read. Under select versions, will be a list of versions and the languages they are in. Select the language you wish to read and click on look up passage.

It is also possible to read two languages side by side and compare them. Above and to the right  of the passage are four symbols. If you click on the symbol to the farthest right (add parallel), it will add a second column, where you can choose a language from a drop down menu and read the passage in another language. I find it helpful to read the first column in English and read the second column in another language.
